If you haven’t picked up on it already, Olapic’s core values are: courage, collaboration, awareness, and performance, and we think that you’ll find these characteristics present across every OlaPeep you “meet.”
That said, say hello to one of the faces behind our super amazing Moderation Services team: Carolina Viscardi Gaffney.
Role: Moderation Manager
Olapic Office: Córdoba, Argentina
Hometown: Rosario, Santa Fe
Time at Olapic: (an amazing) 1.5 years
What do you like most about your current role?
I love having the opportunity to work with so many different teams and clients. It’s great to see the new strategies being used, the innovative content being created, and exploring new ways to improve our process.
What’s a superpower someone in your role or team must possess in order to succeed?
Coordination and Flexibility. With such a big team to work across different time zones, as well as the diverse requirements and moderation guidelines from clients scattered all over the globe, anyone on our team must be flexible and organized in order to moderate photos with detail and care to provide the best results and satisfaction for our clients.
What is your favorite thing about the culture at Olapic?
We are a mini world! There are so many different people getting together with different expertise to contribute to our company in the best way possible. We have a ton of nationalities, differing political opinions, people who are sportsy, techies, super young, not so young ?, and teenagers at heart! All of this just brings a spice to our work and ensures our days are always interesting.
And now, the fun stuff…
What Emoji best describes you?
❤️ For me the heart represents love, passion, friendship. Using the heart also motivates and reminds me to make things amazing in all aspects of life: family, studies, work, and friendships. I’m passionate that way, so LOVE it is!
Your favorite throwback song?
Only one?! I think, Sultans of Swing by the Dire Straits. This is just such a great song and brings back a lot of memories of spending summers with my brothers and cousins.
What was your best/worst idea ever?
My worst idea ever was traveling from Dublin to Cordoba on the 23rd of December with a 13 month-year-old baby a stroller, and 3 suitcases… let’s just say it was “eventful.”
What’re you watching most at the moment (TV or Movie)?
Well, I’m not a fan of watching TV, but I actually got hooked by my 10-year-old son on, “Gravity Falls” – a Disney Channel show. (I love Mabel!!)
What does an ideal weekend look like to you?
Those that are not really planned are my favorite: Suddenly, my brother comes over with his family and we eat a huge lunch (most certainly “asado!”). We’d probably start at noon, and by 4pm we’d be eating dessert – the children would be playing outside, perhaps we’d have an unexpected visit from a friend that shows up with pizza, and we’d finish our night having long conversations on how to solve all the world’s problems over a bottle of red.
Any advice for people who want to work at Olapic?
Be yourself and be prepared to be amazed! It is going to be a lot of work, but I promise it will be just as much fun!
What’s your favorite Instagram account to follow?
@instaireland I used to live in Ireland, and it’s always good to go back to that lovely place from time to time 🙂
